A doctoral thesis in public law at the College of Law and Political Science at Kirkuk University discussed the role of the constitutional judiciary in protecting the rights of voters/a comparative study.
The thesis submitted by researcher Imad Ali Rashid aimed to identify the role of the constitutional judiciary in supervising the electoral process, including demarcating electoral districts, organizing electoral lists and voters’ registry, protecting voting procedures, counting and sorting, and announcing the final results.
The thesis recommended that the constitutional judiciary must achieve a balance between its independence and its political role by excluding political actions from the scope of oversight of the constitutionality of laws.
